I attended and graduated from UNC and have lived in Orange
County(specifically Chapel Hill and Carrboro) since I arrived as a student in 1994.
Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board
In addition to my current employment role, I enjoy promoting the area to others - especially the
cultural richness and hidden gems that may be more visible to those who have lived here a long
time.
How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints?
I have extensive experience working for music, art and film festivals, and spent many years
working in both Raleigh and Durham. Because of this, I can bring the perspective of what our
neighbors are doing to promote their cities to their residents and visitors. I also helped to open
the Durham Hotel, which provided additional experience working in that industry. Finally, as a
past resident of Carrboro, and current resident of Chapel Hill, I am familiar with the differences
between the two towns and how they might appeal to people.
Do you have any personal or business interest(s)that could create a conflict of interest
(either real or perceived) if you are appointed to this board?
Boards/Commissions appointments:
