Reappoint Sharon A. Hill to her second full term in the Economic Development seat.
Ms. Hill has an outstanding attendance record and history of participation. She remains
active with the Orange County economic development board and her role on the VB
Board is supported by their Director Steve Brantley.
2. Reappoint Ms. Grace Holtcamp, operator Merry Hill Farms, to her second-year filling
Hillsborough's Chamber of Commerce seat. Ms. Holtcamp wishes to remain on the
Visitors Bureau Board. She missed three meetings due to a broken leg because of a
farming incident and is now back to her full-time farm and board duties. She has the
support of Hillsborough's Board and Director Scott Czechlewski.
3. Appointment Meredith Saybe of Union Grove Farms to the "At-Large"position
formerly held by Ms. Lili Englehardt. This appointment would be for a partial term,
ending 12/31/2024. Ms. Saybe is part of the family that purchased this land from the
former Maple View Farm owners. Union Grove Farm was founded in 2002 by Greg
Bohlen. Over the last 10 years, Greg, Meredith Saybe and team, have worked to build a
seedless muscadine grape. In addition to the vineyard, Ms. Saybe manages events at the
Vineyard and adjacent wedding barn.
4. Appoint Shailan "Sam"Vadgama, General Manager of the AC Hotel, to the position of
the Hotel Accommodations seat vacated by Ms. Lisa Ganzermiller at the AC Hotel. Sam
replaced Lisa in the General Manager position and would like to join the board of the
Visitors Bureau. This appointment would be for a partial term, ending 12/31/2024.
5. Appoint Ms. Rebecca Mormino, Executive Director of the Downtown Chapel Hill
position to the Downtown Chapel Hill seat on the board. This position was last filled by
former director Matt Gladdek before his resignation. This appointment would be for a
first full term, ending 06/30/2026. The Downtown Chapel Hill Partnership Board
encourages Ms. Mormino to fill this seat.
