Applications of Current CAC Members <br /> PURPOSE: To approve the creation of the Adult Care Home and Nursing Home Community <br /> Advisory Committee, adopt the Committee's Policies and Procedures, and approve initial <br /> appointments to the Committee. <br /> BACKGROUND: Based on discussion at the June 1, 2023 work session, the Board directed staff <br /> to request approval from the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Victor Orija, to create a joint <br /> Adult Care Home and Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee, pursuant to North Carolina <br /> General Statute (NCGS) 131 D-31(c). On September 11, 2023, written approval to combine the <br /> Nursing Home and Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committees into one joint committee <br /> was received from Mr. Orija. <br /> The following attachments are included for the Board's review: <br /> 1. Written Approval to Create Joint Committee from the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman <br /> 2. Draft Adult Care Home and Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee Policies and <br /> Procedures <br /> o This document has been reviewed by the County Attorney, the Regional Long-Term <br /> Care Ombudsman, Autumn Cox, and Chairs from the current Community Advisory <br /> Committees, and includes the charge, goals and objectives of the Committee, and <br /> establishes Committee membership in accordance with NCGS 131-D-31(c). <br /> 3.
