I am in my last semester of a Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Duke University <br /> School of Nursing and the emphasis of community involvement has helped me learn how my <br /> skills as a nurse leader can contribute to improving our community. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> Quality of care is critical to anyone who seeks care. As a nurse, I understand what quality of <br /> care is in regards to clinical needs, satisfaction, and process. Also, my experience as a nurse <br /> leader has guided me towards understanding of staff and leader perspectives. <br /> Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board: <br /> Although my nursing experience is limited to the inpatient setting, I ve had the opportunity to <br /> participate in taskforces to promote improved transitional care, which has provided me time with <br /> outpatient providers and care teams.
