1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: November 2, 2023 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-e <br /> SUBJECT: Procurement of Four (4) Emergency Services Vehicles <br /> DEPARTMENT: Emergency Services & Solid <br /> Waste Management/Fleet <br /> Services <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Utilitac Quote Kirby Saunders, Emergency Services <br /> Director, 919-245-6123 <br /> Sarah Pickhardt, Division Chief of <br /> Emergency Management, 919-245- <br /> 6135 <br /> Robert Williams, Solid Waste <br /> Management/Fleet Services Director, <br /> 919-968-2788 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve the purchase of four (4) Emergency Services fleet vehicles. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners approved six (6) vehicle replacements <br /> for Orange County Emergency Services in the FY 2023-24 Capital Investment Plan budget. Four <br /> of these vehicles are response capable SUVs with warnings lights, sirens, and communications <br /> technology (radios, etc.). <br /> The Emergency Management Division, which oversees the logistics function of the Emergency <br /> Services Department, in partnership with Fleet Services, has selected Utilitac to build the four <br /> response capable SUVs using the competitively bid contract BuyBoard National Contract <br /> (Contract #698-23). <br /> The price for these vehicles and upfits, excluding vehicle graphics and auxiliary power supplies <br /> used to power agency medical response equipment, is $228,142.65. The auxiliary power supplies <br /> will be installed by a different, local vendor upon the County taking possession of the vehicles. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Board of County Commissioners has approved a total amount of <br /> $413,076 for replacement of six vehicles within the 2023-24 fiscal year. The purchase of the four <br /> SUVs will be funded from this funding. The remaining funds ($184,933.35) will be used to <br /> purchase the additional two vehicles and any needed upfits. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br /> this item: <br />
