5 <br /> Crawler Loader <br /> The crawler loader nuns on flat tracks, unlike a bulldozer, which has cleared tracks. This <br /> provides it with a much greater pushing ability than a wheel loader;while still offering the <br /> operator the ability to load certain vehicles or equipment without having to wont'about what <br /> materiel the operator is running over, The loader will be used to push the wood waste material <br /> to the wood waste grinder, load the grinder and trommel screen, load the stacking conveyor and <br /> push the piles of wood waste material or finished mulch product Into piles. <br /> A pre-bid conference was held and was attended by two vendors. Bids were solicited from <br /> seven vendors on Orange County Bid number 231, with two bidders responding. Due to the <br /> environment in which this equipment will be used, It was determined by shelf that the unit would <br /> require seal guards to keep wire and other debris from ruining the once seals and to help <br /> protect the undercarriage and bottom of this machine. The bid submitted by R.W. Moore was <br /> determined to be non-responsive since they were unable to provide the seal guards. As <br /> reflected on the attached tabulation, Gregory Poole of Raleigh, North Carolina submitted the <br /> lowest responsible bid that was responsive at a delivered cost of$204,803.00 which includes a <br /> 5-year aztended warranty for a Caterpillar 963C, <br /> Stacking Conveyor <br /> The stacking conveyor is utilized to load mulch and other products into the °Ilve-floor trailer for <br /> delivery to market <br /> No Pre-bid meeting was required. Bids were solicited from twenty-three vendors on Orange <br /> County Informal Bid number 1268, four bidders responded.
