Approved 10.18.2023
1 Rebecca Sorenson: Right.
2
3 Beth Bronson: Does that make sense?
4
5 Nathan Robinson: I'm not sure I understand what your concern is.
6
7 Beth Bronson: Not putting fencing up when you are, if you are already going to be encroaching on that 30-foot setback,
8 and the idea is to have a natural barrier with the existing landscape.
9
10 Nathan Robinson: I believe they said they will create the buffer that would otherwise be required in the 30 foot?
11
12 Beth Bronson: That was considered sufficient.
13
14 Nathan Robinson: On the development side of the road. Yeah.
15
16 Beth Bronson: Okay.
17
18 Ryan Moffitt: Just that was Rebecca Sorenson for the stenographer.
19
20 Leon Meyers: Okay. I apologize for cutting off anybody who had questions. Any other questions for staff or applicant?
21 Now we'll close the public hearing. And so, the matter is before the Board. Let's see. We're 2 hours in here. Would
22 you folks like to take a break?
23
24 Beth Bronson: Just a 5-minute break?
25
26 Leon Meyers: 5-minute break? How about that? Okay. We're back at 9:15. How about that?
27
28 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT BREAKS FOR 5 MINUTES
29
30 Leon Meyers: Okay, Board members. Discussion, comments?
31
32 Beth Bronson: I mean, I guess my only point of discussion is that it has been reviewed by staff, and they are not making
33 a recommendation, but they have determined that it meets the qualifications of use for a camp under Section, what is it,
34 5.7.5 and as a retreat under 5.18.4. And I guess just that checklist, being within the packet, obviously, does anybody
35 have any comments or concerns based on that assessment of the camp and retreat, based on what we've heard in the
36 fact finding?
37
38 Nathan Robinson: It's my observation, and Pat, you got, your team did really good job of filling out all the line items on
39 the checklist, so well done. On both the general and of the specific standards, so. I guess my only, my only question
40 is, I don't know if we can even ask Pat this at point. Can we, once we close the public hearing, can we ask questions to
41 staff while we're making the decision, or are we precludes, you know, just ourselves, just the board now at this point?
42
43 James Bryan: I would recommend that you reopen the hearing.
44
45 Nathan Robinson: Okay.
46
47 Other Speaker: And that's generally fine. There's generally not going to be any objection to that if you haven't allowed
48 people to leave. Nobody's asked to leave, so you could reopen it, ask any questions.
49
50 Leon Meyers: So, without objection then, the public hearing is open again.
33
