If you'd just identify yourself as you come forward, please.
5
6 Victoria Hudson: My name is Victoria Hudson. I serve as the Director of Environmental Health.
7
8 Nathan Robinson: Victoria, will you, and I did read through the packet here, and I saw that it was, I saw the soil borings,
9 and it showed it was good for the equivalent of five bedrooms. Regarding the concern about the water quality in
10 adjacent properties, how would you respond to that?
11
12 Victoria Hudson: First I think there might be some misinformation.
13
14 Nathan Robinson: Okay.
15
16 Victoria Hudson: We haven't evaluated it. We've just recently received our first part of the application for 2,265 gallons
17 per day, which is like four or five houses. So, we've just now received that. It's been assigned out. Mr. Tucker has a
18 lovely proposal. The soil scientist that was used is a highly reputable company. And we have every reason to believe
19 that it should be able to be designed and installed the way it is supposed to be, according to both the administrative
20 codes of North Carolina and the local rules for Orange County wastewater. And how that affects the groundwater, is
21 that the question?
22
23 Nathan Robinson: I don't know if he was concerned about groundwater or surface water to the reservoir. It sounded
24 like he was more concerned about reservoir water.
25
26 Victoria Hudson: Surface water concerns us all, always.
27
28 Nathan Robinson: Of course.
29
30 Victoria Hudson: This would be horrible in any kind of capacity.
31
32 Nathan Robinson: Sure.
33
34 Victoria Hudson: But the point that, from what I've seen from the proposal, Mr. Tucker's diagnose, along with AWT's soil
35 work, ensures that there is enough early. He said something a little bit earlier like saying we're not sure what the
36 design's going to be, but we gave ourselves plenty of room. And you've already asked the question earlier, sir, about
37 the repair area. They must have 100 percent of the repair area, without any reduction in the linear length of it. So, yes,
38 this won't be permitted by Orange County if they can't meet those standards.
39
40 Nathan Robinson: So, you feel comfortable with the engineer's proposal based on what you see from the—
41
42 Victoria Hudson: I feel comfortable proceeding with the proposal. No permits will be issued at this time.
43
44 Nathan Robinson: Sure. Sure. Got it. No more questions.
45
46 Beth Bronson: Do we need to ask questions to the applicants before we close public hearing?
47
48 Leon Meyers: And I'm sorry, I thought we'd covered those, but yes, we do need to do that. If you have more questions
49 for the applicant. Thank you.
50
31
