Please briefly describe the proposed program, including an explanation of how it aligns <br />with the Town of Chapel Hill and Carrboro’s Results Framework, and Orange County BOCC <br />Goals and Priorities, and the target population to benefit from the program. (250 words or <br />less) <br />The CEF Advocate Program provides one-on-one assistance to help Orange County <br />residents who are homeless or experiencing housing insecurity to gain employment, secure <br />housing, build financial savings, and access community resources. The program aligns with <br />Orange County’s first goal of ensuring “a community network of basic human services and <br />infrastructure” and with Chapel Hill and Carrboro’s second strategic objective of increasing <br />“livelihoods security” by helping residents access safety net services (2.1) and increase job <br />skills (2.2). The target population is Orange County residents who are low-income (below <br />80% AMI) and experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, or financial insecurity. <br /> <br />Services available through the Advocate Program include: <br />● Financial coaching courses to improve financial behaviors and wellbeing. Each course <br />is an interactive, hands-on module Members complete with the help of a volunteer <br />Advocate to work towards their personal goals, such as budgeting, reducing credit, or <br />building savings. <br />● One-on-one support obtaining housing and securing employment through setting and <br />achieving personalized goals, resource access and navigation, and continued follow- <br />up. <br /> <br /> <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: A24D2229-012E-4233-A6F8-624A53BCF7DA
