However, since October 1993 these positions have <br /> remained vacant. They have been contacted on a regular baste and have not responded. <br /> Therefore, it is being recommended that the Ordnance be amended to provide representation <br /> to the towns of Chapel Hill and Cam without the requirements that the members be a <br /> person from their Recreation and Parks Commission. Section VII of Me Ordinance which <br /> created the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council would be changed to read: <br /> Each member of the Council shall be a county resident appointed by Me Orange County <br /> Board of Commissioners. <br /> The Orange County Recreation and Parks Council shall be composed of one member of <br /> Me Orange County Board of Commissioners, seven representing Me seven townships in <br /> Orange County, one each from Me aides of Chapel Hill, Carr6oro and Hillsborough with <br /> the remaining two members at-h rge. <br /> The Boat approved this amendment on May 8, 2002. However not all of the Commissioners <br /> were in attendance at that meeting. An Ordinance of Orange County net requiring a public <br /> hearing must be approved by all of the members of the Board to be adopted on first reading. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE <br />
