Deficit/Surplus In FY 2020-2021, the MES PTA had a budget surplus of approximately <br />$2,000, as a result of covid precautions limiting PTA programming. <br />Additionally, CHCCS was completely virtual as a district until the last weeks <br />of Spring 2021, when parents could opt into a hybrid model. For FY 2021- <br />2022, the MES PTA has a small projected budget deficit as a result of <br />applying the prior year's surplus to that year's programming and events to <br />assist in the transition to fully in-person learning for the majority of MES <br />students. For FY 2022-2023, the MES PTA is projecting a small budget <br />surplus to allow for the flexibility to adjust for anticipated inflation costs <br />during that time frame. There are several projects that are still waiting to be <br />funded as the year ends and we do not anticipate carrying forward much of <br />a surplus into next year. As you will note on our FY 2023-24 Budget, we <br />have a significant projected Deficit.
