AGENCY INFORMATION <br />Please provide the following information about your agency: <br />1.Date of Incorporation (Month/Year): February, 2005 <br />2.Agency’s Purpose/Mission (no more than a few sentences): <br />With a focus on STEM education, the arts, child health and emerging literacy, Kidzu <br />Children’s Museum inspires children and the adults in their lives to learn through creative, <br />purposeful play. Kidzu’s vision is to be a national model of excellence as a community <br />centered children’s museum. That is, to effectively serve, celebrate and reflect the <br />community through unique, play-based experiential exhibits and programs that promote <br />21st century skill-building and family engagement. <br />3.Please provide a brief description of your organization’s past achievements in <br />carrying out similar projects and evidence of successful record of meeting <br />proposed budgets and timetables (no more than 100 words). <br />Kidzu has offered reduced ticket rates to EBT/SNAP recipients via Museums for All, <br />an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, since 2018. We also offer free <br />organizational memberships to community non-profits and free camp scholarships for <br />underserved/underrepresented children in our area, which we most recently have reserved <br />for refugee children. By working with community groups, such as El Centro and the Refugee <br />Center, we routinely offer a variety of multicultural and multilingual programs.
