3 <br />Judy Truitt <br />Summary of Professional Experience <br />Judy Truitt has been with OPC Mental Health for nearly sixteen years, providing <br />direct services in both developmental disabilities and adult mental health, before <br />assuming the position of Director of Quality Improvement in 1998. In 2002, Ms. <br />Truitt was named as Deputy Director of the agency, while continuing in her role <br />as QI Director. On November 18, 2004, Ms. Truitt was named as Interim Area <br />Director following the resignation of Tom Maynard. Prior to her employment at <br />OPC, Ms. Truitt was the Director of Case Management Services for the <br />Richland/Lexington MR Board in Columbia, South Carolina. Ms. Truitt's career <br />has also offered her the opportunity to work extensively in court systems in both <br />North Carolina and Florida. She has been a sworn police officer and a child <br />abuse & neglect investigator. She was the Assistant Coordinator of the Florida <br />Guardian ad Litem Program in the Sixth Judicial Circuit, as well as the clinical <br />services/assistant director of a wilderness camping program for delinquent youth. <br />Ms. Truitt was invited to participate on a Senate sub-committee investigating <br />public mental health system reform for the state of South Carolina, and has sat <br />as a Board member for several advocacy and/or client rights organizations. She <br />has a MSW from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
