Community Impact The courtroom can hold 92 audience members, including sitting audience <br />members in the jury box. The cast will be comprised of 15 <br />local actors. For six performances, we could impact around 500 people <br />from Hillsborough and the surrounding area, such as Efland, Cedar Grove, <br />and Chapel Hill/Carrboro. <br />In May 2022, we presented On the Banks of the Eno in courthouses in <br />Hillsborough and Chapel Hill to over 300 people and raised $4500 for the <br />Orange County Historical Museum. The grant we received from OCAC <br />enabled us to pay actors and production staff, and promotional costs. The <br />play also enabled people to experience our historic Orange County <br />courthouses. <br />Artist Experience The Seymour Playwrights have been writing collaboratively for more than <br />four years. In May 2022, we presented our first play, On the Banks of the <br />Eno, in courthouses in Hillsborough and Chapel Hill to over 300 people and <br />raised $4500 for the Orange County Historical Museum. <br />W e have all been involved in playwriting and theatrical productions in the <br />Triangle, including The Seymour Center in Chapel Hill and OdysseyStage <br />productions at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro, especially The NC 10by10 Play <br />Festival in 2018 and 2019. Pip wrote and directed Chinese-American <br />W edding, presented at the Passmore and Seymour Centers in May 2023, <br />which brought together the Seymour Center's Chinese choir with The Prime <br />Time Players. <br />John Paul and Sherry produced Long Story Shorts on the UNC campus in <br />November 2022, staging eight plays by students in W riting for Screen and <br />Stage Program. <br />How do you plan to <br />market your project? <br />--The Orange County Historical Museum (OCHM) will promote the play on <br />its website and in social media, including paid boosts on Facebook, and <br />email blasts to its large membership. <br />--The Seymour Playwrights will promote the play on town and county <br />calendars and area event calendars.
