I am a research and education librarian at the Duke University Medical Center Library&Archives. I have taught graduate-level courses in library and information science. I am also an active and passionate library patron. Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: was deeply touched by the passing of Dr. Evelyn Daniel. She was a teacher, mentor, and friend of mine. Upon reading her obituary, I noticed she served on the CHPL board and resolved to try to become more involved. As a devoted patron, academic medical librarian, and Carrboro resident, I feel that I can contribute to CHPL. Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board: I have a strong understanding of health information literacy and resources, familiarity with other library perspectives, and represent a different type of patron (digital, commuter, young professional)than what people typically consider.
