As a kid growing up in Raleigh long ago, Hillsboro (as it <br /> was spelled back then) and Chapel Hill were our primary day trip destinations. My mother s <br /> family has lived in Orange County most of the 268 years the country has existed. Good <br /> knowledge of Orange County history including peer reviewed work on antebellum agricultural <br /> history and the end of the Civil War here and familiarity with historical architecture resources. <br />
