Please describe how you have involved the intended beneficiaries of the proposed project in the <br />planning and design process (in 100 words or less). <br /> <br />The Healthy Food Access Program and the Youth and Children Programs were both originally developed <br />per the request active farmer participant families, to meet the needs of their own children and the food <br />access gaps. In addition to participants and former participants serving in leadership roles on the staff <br />and board, Transplanting Traditions participants also serve on decision making committees that meet <br />monthly to inform organizational decisions, programs and technical assistance as well as provide <br />dedicated spaces for feedback. In addition, extensive mid-year and end of year feedback process <br />evaluation is gathered from each farmer in the form of conversational interviews to understand how the <br />organizational structure and programs can improve annually to best serve farmer needs. The majority of <br />workshops and trainings, led by refugee-identifying staff, to offer farmers tools and skills to build their <br />leadership capabilities at the organizational level and for their independent businesses. TTCF’s approach <br />in designing this project was through community consultations to discuss the overall community need of <br />secure land and business development, meeting with farmers one-on-one to learn about their business <br />goals and needs, and addressing challenges together. <br /> <br /> <br />7.
