Agency’s Purpose/Mission (no more than a few sentences): OCDAC's mission is to assist the public with <br />removing barriers that block equal access to employment, transportation, housing, education, and overall <br />community access for people with disabilities. <br /> <br /> <br />2. Please provide a brief description of your organization’s past achievements in carrying out similar <br />projects and evidence of successful record of meeting proposed budgets and timetables (no more than <br />100 words). <br />• We have earned several cash awards based on community relationships in tying technology to the needs <br />of disabled. These cash awards include UPS, JCPenney Golden Rule, and IBM Community Development in <br />Special Technology. <br />• Established a technology lab for persons with moderate to severe disabilities and conducted technology <br />workshops on Zoom for 41-51 registrants. <br />• Our successful record of meeting proposed budgets and timetables is evident in our partnerships with <br />established agencies in North Carolina such as NC Works, NC ADA Network, Insightful Visionairies, The <br />Volunteer Center, NC Fair Housing Project, UNC Center for Public Service, Triangle eCycling and NC Food <br />Bank. <br /> <br />3. How has your organization incorporated racial equity goals into your organizational goals? <br />The Orange County Disability Awareness Council prides itself on racial equity in leadership and membership. <br />Since we are constantly faced with different types of biases, it is part of our mission to be totally inclusive. <br />Our leadership draws from people of all background such as Native Americans, Hispanic/Latinx, African <br />American, Asian, Arab, and Caucasian. <br /> <br /> <br />5.
