FY 2024 Local Share Certification Jamael Wiley, Transit Planning Manager, 919-245-2006 PURPOSE: To: 1) Conduct a public hearing on the 5311 Administrative grant application and the Combined Capital grant application for FY 2024; and 2) Approve the Local Share Certification (Attachment 1). BACKGROUND: Each year, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Integrated Mobility Division (IMD) accepts requests for capital, operations, and administrative needs for county- operated transit programs. Orange County Transportation Services (OCTS) is eligible to make application for both capital and administrative funding and seeks a total of $1,796,947 in transit grant funding. Public notices were advertised through News of Orange in English and Spanish. The 5311 Administrative and Combined Capital grants provide financial support for transit services that promote economic self-sufficiency to a wide range of residents and locations. The funds additionally support a system that enhances the access of residents in the non-urbanized areas to health care, shopping, education, employment, public services, and recreation.
