He said in regards for recreation programs, it is thought that <br /> the county should be the low-cost provider of summer camps. He said that on the other side, they <br /> might have a lower cost recovery than in Planning and Inspections. <br /> Commissioner Richards asked if waitlists are due to capacity. <br /> David Stancil said yes, for the most part. He said that they are able to help them find other <br /> camps, or refer them to other entities that have openings, and they work with the person to register <br /> early for the next year. <br /> Commissioner Richards said she was trying to understand having a coordinator and a <br /> waitlist. <br /> Travis Myren said there is both a staff and a facility capacity issue. <br /> David Stancil said the assistant would help provide more opportunities such as additional <br /> leagues for girls' basketball. He said they would be on the ground and involved in athletics <br /> programs. Would be funded by the revenues. He said they are starting to finally get back to pre- <br /> COVID numbers. <br /> Commissioner Fowler said she is happy to see a bike pedestrian and trails plan going in. <br /> David Stancil said they are working on the scope and RFP now and that the Board should <br /> see that after the summer break. <br /> Commissioner Hamilton asked about the four regional agreements. <br /> David Stancil said UNRBA, Jordan Lake One Water, Clean Water Education Partnership, <br /> are efforts they involved in that were being paid from parts of the bigger budget. He said it is a lot <br /> of watershed protection efforts they are engaged in. <br /> Chair Bedford asked if they are able to do the outside learning center shelter at Blackwood <br /> Park, if they would be able to have more summer camps with more staff. <br />
