He said this is financial aid that is not <br /> available any other way, as Pell grants and other similar aid are not typically available for <br /> continuing education or short-term courses. He said this scholarship fund is typically depleted <br /> quickly, so he appreciates the extra recommended contribution. <br /> President Buxton said the Carolina Innovation Hub is a new item in conjunction with UNC- <br /> Chapel Hill. He thanked the University, the Town of Chapel Hill, and the Chamber for a Greater <br /> Chapel Hill-Carrboro for their letters of support for this so that some programming can be brought <br /> to downtown Chapel Hill. Facilities Technician and Plumber:$45,408 <br /> The College requests 20%of both a Facilities Tech position to reduce our <br /> technician per square foot ratio from 100,000 sf to 50,000 sf(industry <br /> standard)and a new plumber position to address a major service need. <br /> These positions will reduce contracted services needs.The Durham <br /> County Manager has included an 80% share($140,715)in her <br /> recommended budget. <br /> 3.
