He said he will go over items included in the Manager's Recommended Budget <br /> and will also discuss items that are included in the Durham County Manager's Recommended <br /> Budget that are intended to be joint funding opportunities. He said he is excited about the <br /> continued expansion of the Orange County Campus and will keep the Board apprised of the <br /> developments. <br /> Slide #2 <br /> INCLUDED IN THE MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> 1. IJurham Tech Promise; $200,000 <br /> Continued funding of$200.000for Durham Tech Promise scholarships <br /> for public high school s g raduates <br /> Z Back to Work scholarships:$100,000 <br /> Back to Work scholarships for 6-8 week courses that offer preparation <br /> for in-demand, entry-level jobs in areas like biotech, health care, <br /> construction,and IT,The scholarships cover the cost of tuition <br /> (average$250)and$250 to defray the expense of books,supplies, <br /> and technology <br /> 3, Carolina Innovation Flub rent:$20.000 <br /> Requestfor rentfor new spacein the Innovation Hub in partnership <br /> with UNC-Chapel Hill for workforce training,small business <br /> pounseling,and other programming_In future years,the renIwill <br /> increase to$100.000 to support dedicated space in this new facility, <br /> 4.
