A list summarizing the stakeholder interviews conducted will be shared as well as a
thematic summary of issues generated from interviews. This thematic list will be used to help organize the types
of information and questions that can be provided at the first round of public engagement occurring this fall.
The Board will be asked to identify any other topics that they would like covered in the public engagement
activities.
3. The third objective is to share with the Board the selected name of the planning process and request feedback
on the preferred process tagline. These items are currently under development and will be shared at the Board
meeting. Notable is that this name and tagline are for the planning process and not the plan document itself.
The name of the plan document can be determined during Phase 4 when the plan is being drafted.
4. The fourth objective is to share with the Board the general approach for the first round of community
engagement that is being planned for late October 2023.The approach presentation will include the date and
location for the first workshop, the general set up of the in-person workshop and corresponding online
engagement option, overview of activities, and overview of educational information shared. This will also
include a discussion on any targeted meetings that can be conducted after the initial workshop.
5. Finally, the fifth objective is to share an update on the development of the Equity Database. This database
will be used to publicize engagement activities to groups in the County that represent, engage, or work with
harder to reach populations that haven't historically been involved in local land use planning efforts. This
includes residents that define themselves as Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino(x), LGBTQIA+, members
of indigenous tribes, persons with disabilities, persons suffering from homelessness, and other community
members that have not historically been engaged in County planning processes.
* 1014
Planning I Zoning&Land Use I Sustainability&Resiliency
