Presentation Regarding Uproar Festival of Public Art <br /> The Board received information on a new upcoming, countywide festival called Uproar Festival of <br /> Public Art. <br /> BACKGROUND: Uproar Festival of Public Art is four years in the making. Supported by all three <br /> municipalities, UNC-Chapel Hill, and other civic and arts organizations, Uproar will drive tourism <br /> into the downtown communities during the slow summer months while celebrating the <br /> participating artists and community pride. The festival will take place through downtown Chapel <br /> Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough and will feature 60 outdoor works of public art. A jury panel and <br /> the public will be responsible for selecting winners and cash prizes will be awarded.
