Authorize the County Manager to execute and sign the contract <br /> (Attachment 1); and <br /> 3, Approve Budget Amendment#9-A. <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> NORM[CAPOLINn <br /> Commissioner Richards asked if the results from the engagement windows will be shared <br /> with the Board. <br /> Tom Altieri said they will be shared. <br /> Commissioner Richards noted that the steering committee is comprised of all staff. <br /> Tom Altieri said it could be looked at as a technical committee. He said these would be <br /> the departments that have some focus on land use and provide the staffing to advisory boards. <br /> Commissioner Richards asked what departments were included on the steering <br /> committee and how the advisory boards fit in. <br /> Tom Altieri said that the Planning and Inspections, Managers Office, Office of Equity and <br /> Inclusion, the Department of Environment and Agriculture, Parks and Recreation, Economic <br /> Development, the NC Cooperative Extension Agency, Housing and Community Development, <br /> Environmental Health, Department on Aging, Asset Management Services, and Community <br /> Relations are on the Steering Committee. He said that staff will keep their advisory boards <br /> informed of what is going on with the plan. <br /> Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked what the scores were for the two firms that were up for <br /> consideration. <br /> Tom Altieri said he would share that with the Board. <br /> Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked John Roberts about item 6, where Cy Stober, the <br /> Planning Director, was designated. She asked if a person's name is usually indicated rather than <br /> a position. <br /> John Roberts said yes, when there is a person in the position. <br /> Commissioner Fowler asked if the inclusion of advisory boards would be a formal process. <br /> She also asked if there was only one firm interviewed and how that choice was made. <br /> Tom Altieri said that Clarion had a lot of history of working with North Carolina <br /> governments. He said the other firm was Florida based. He said they demonstrated a good <br /> understanding of Orange County and what was important to the county and staff. He said they <br /> were both qualified consultants. <br /> Commissioner Fowler asked about the formal process for obtaining advisory board input. <br />
