30
Wave 2: Paring data and trends analysis with related policy questions and present draft
conservation and growth framework.
Wave 3: Presentation of draft Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
Planning Board and BOCC: The project scope includes three rounds of meetings with the
Planning Board and BOCC to be held at strategic points in the planning process. Generally, these
meetings are to occur at the beginning, mid-point, and near the end of the process. The purpose
of these meetings is for the consultant to brief the boards on project status and findings and
engage members in discussion about the direction of the plan. The consultant will also provide
interview opportunities for Planning Board and BOCC members, among other key stakeholders,
during project kick-off. The boards will receive updates from staff throughout the process and,
ultimately, the Planning Board will provide a recommendation to the BOCC consistent with the
NCGS.
Project Steering: A Steering Committee comprised of staff representatives from multiple County
departments will review draft work products and provide feedback; provide reactions to the
consultant team on public engagement approaches and activities; and serve as ambassadors to
the planning effort, including a liaison role to respective staff and advisory boards, where
applicable. The Committee will meet monthly through most of the planning process.
A complete list of Protect Deliverables and Fee Schedule are provided as Attachment "A" to the
Contract (Attachment 1).
Tom Altieri, Senior Planner— Long Range Planning, made the following presentation:
Slide #1
ORANGE COUNTY
NORTH CAR UNA
Professional services Contract t
Develop a Comprehensive Land
Use Plan
Board of County Commissioners
May 1 , 22
item 6 b.
