<br />Program information Page 10 of 28 <br />AGENCY INFORMATION <br /> <br />Please provide the following information about your agency: <br /> <br />1. Date of Incorporation (Month/Year): Orange County Historical Museum (OCHM) was <br />incorporated in November 1984. The Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange <br />County (HFHOC), incorporated in 2007, has operated OCHM since then. <br /> <br /> <br />2. Agency’s Purpose/Mission (no more than a few sentences): The mission of the <br />Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County and the Orange County <br />Historical Museum is to enlighten and engage our community and visitors from around <br />the world by preserving and interpreting the history of Orange County. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Please provide a brief description of your organization’s past achievements in <br />carrying out similar projects and evidence of successful record of meeting <br />proposed budgets and timetables (no more than 100 words). <br /> <br />Since OCHM reopened after being closed for structural repairs and the COVID-19 <br />pandemic restrictions, OCHM has been rapidly growing. OCHM has been able to move from <br />having only part-time staff to having two full-time staff members. OCHM has seen significant <br />growth in the total number of individuals served, from 1,828 in FY 20-21 to 3,104 in FY 21- <br />22 and an estimated total served for FY 22-23 of 3,564. The museum has also been able to <br />consistently present new exhibits, host in-person and virtual educational programs, provide <br />tours, produce educational resources, and create a dedicated children’s learning gallery all <br />free to the public. <br /> <br />4. Living Wage: Does this agency pay permanent employees a minimum living <br />wage? (Yes / No) NO <br /> <br />If yes, is this agency an Orange County Living Wage Certified Employer? NO <br /> <br />If no, please briefly explain. Full time staff are paid above the living wage at $16/hr. <br />The one part time staff member is paid just under the living wage at $15/hr. <br /> <br /> <br /> Schedule of Positions: # of FTE – Full-Time Paid Positions: 2 # of FTE – Part- <br />Time Paid Positions: 1 <br />Race & Equity <br />Consistent with our commitment to equity and inclusion, the Towns of Chapel Hill <br />and Carrboro and Orange County Government are taking steps together to center <br />racial equity in the Human Services Funding Program. We are requesting basic <br />information about your organization’s racial equity work. <br /> <br />5.
