2 <br /> event that state budget deliberations are ongoing after July 1, 2002 and the future of CJPP is <br /> uncertain, the OCJP has recommended that both Orange and Chatham Counties support the <br /> pre-trial release program until the program status is determined or until December 31, 2002. <br /> This recommendation is based on the program's continued success in relieving jail <br /> overcrowding. Funding for this program is recommended to not exceed $15,000 per county for <br /> this six-month period (which is approximately one-half of its annual operating budget). <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the grant <br /> application and authorize the chair to sign. <br />
