Year-to-Date Budget Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To consider the approval of two professional services contracts: WSP USA, Inc. to <br /> develop a Transportation Multimodal Plan and Nelson Nyggard to develop a Short Range Transit <br /> Plan, and approve Budget Amendment #1-B. <br /> BACKGROUND: Orange County Transportation Services (OCTS) proposes to conduct two <br /> planning projects: Orange County Transportation Multimodal Plan (TMP) and Short Range Transit <br /> Plan (SRTP). Both projects are programmed in the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan <br /> Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) Fiscal Year 2024 Unified Planning Work Program. The <br /> DCHC MPO and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) requests Orange <br /> County procure the contracts and manage the projects. DCHC MPO will reimburse the County up <br /> to $296,811. Summaries of both projects are: <br /> 1. Orange County Transportation Multimodal Plan: $150,000 - Consolidates all Orange <br /> County transportation plans, programs, policies and projects into a single document and <br /> map, with member jurisdiction participation and public engagement. The Plan will include <br /> transportation performance matrix to assist in determining County transportation priorities, <br /> funding to achieve County objectives and recommendation necessary to realize County's <br /> transportation goals. <br /> 2. Short Range Transit Plan: $230,000 - Five to ten year fiscally constrained plan for Orange <br /> County specific transit projects and programs. The Plan will take into consideration all <br /> transit funding opportunities (e.g. grants, transit tax, local funds, etc.) and possible <br /> improvements to the County's transit system. Towns will participate in the planning process <br /> for a coordinated, collaborative, and comprehensive transit plan. <br /> A Request for Letter of Interest review committee recommended WSP USA, Inc., an international <br /> architecture, engineering and geospatial (AEG) firm, to develop the Transportation Multimodal <br /> Plan to be completed by September 2024. Nelson Nyggard was recommended to develop the <br />
