30
1 Wave 2: Paring data and trends analysis with related policy questions and present draft
2 conservation and growth framework.
3 Wave 3: Presentation of draft Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
4
5 Planning Board and BOCC: The project scope includes three rounds of meetings with the
6 Planning Board and BOCC to be held at strategic points in the planning process. Generally,
7 these meetings are to occur at the beginning, mid-point, and near the end of the process. The
8 purpose of these meetings is for the consultant to brief the boards on project status and findings
9 and engage members in discussion about the direction of the plan. The consultant will also
10 provide interview opportunities for Planning Board and BOCC members, among other key
11 stakeholders, during project kick-off. The boards will receive updates from staff throughout the
12 process and, ultimately, the Planning Board will provide a recommendation to the BOCC
13 consistent with the NCGS.
14
15 Project Steering: A Steering Committee comprised of staff representatives from multiple County
16 departments will review draft work products and provide feedback; provide reactions to the
17 consultant team on public engagement approaches and activities; and serve as ambassadors to
18 the planning effort, including a liaison role to respective staff and advisory boards, where
19 applicable. The Committee will meet monthly through most of the planning process.
20
21 A complete list of Project Deliverables and Fee Schedule are provided as Attachment "A" to the
22 Contract (Attachment 1).
23
24 Tom Altieri, Senior Planner— Long Range Planning, made the following presentation:
25
26 Slide #1
ORANGE COUNTY
NORTH CAROLINA
Professional Services Contract t
Develop s Comprehensive land
Use Plan
Board of County Commissioners
May 1 , 2023
Item 6 b
27
28
29
