She said <br /> 2 that she wants Mr. Busby to be heard. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 A motion was made by Chair Bedford, seconded by Vice-Chair McKee, to deny the refund <br /> 5 request. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 8 <br /> 9 John Roberts said there is an article from the School of Government written after the <br /> 10 Supreme Court decided what a clerical error is. He said this happens in every county and is an <br /> 1 1 ongoing issue that the legislature has not addressed. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 a. Minutes <br /> 14 The Board approved the draft minutes for the April 27, 2023, May 2, 2023, May 9, 2023, and May <br /> 15 11, 2023 BOCC Meeting as submitted by the Clerk to the Board. <br /> 16 b. Motor Vehicle Property Tax Releases/Refunds <br /> 17 The Board adopted a resolution to release motor vehicle property tax values for one (1) taxpayer <br /> 18 with a total of one (1) bill that will result in a reduction of revenue. <br /> 19 c. Property Tax Releases/Refunds <br /> 20 The Board adopted a resolution to release property tax values for five (5) taxpayers with a total <br /> 21 of thirteen (13) bills that will result in a reduction of revenue. <br /> 22 d. Tax Refund Request—Walker Hall Busby, Jr. <br /> 23 The Board considered a refund request for taxes submitted by Walker Hall Busby, Jr. <br /> 24 e. Proclamation Recognizing Susan Worley <br /> 25 The Board approved a proclamation recognizing and expressing gratitude to Susan Worley for <br /> 26 her devotion and service to the people of Orange County. <br /> 27 f. Renewal of Health Services Agreement with Southern Health Partners for Medical <br /> 28 Services at the Orange County Detention Center <br /> 29 The Board approved a renewal of the Health Services Agreement with Southern Health Partners <br /> 30 for medical services at the Orange County Detention Center for Contract Period July 1, 2023 <br /> 31 through June 30, 2024. <br /> 32 g. JCPC Certification and County Plan for FY 2023-2024 <br /> 33 The Board approved the Orange County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) Certification <br /> 34 and County Plan for FY 2023-2024. <br /> 35 h. Extension of Food and Organic Waste Collection and Composting Contract <br /> 36 The Board approved the extension of the contract with Judy D Brooks Contractor, Inc. that <br /> 37 enables the County to provide collection, hauling and processing for separated food waste and <br /> 38 other organic materials from commercial and institutional establishments throughout Orange <br /> 39 County. <br /> 40 i. Orange County Climate Council Memorandum of Understanding <br /> 41 The Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)for the restructuring of the Orange <br /> 42 County Climate Council. <br /> 43 j. Approval of Contracts with Capital Area Workforce Development(CAWD)for Workforce <br /> 44 Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program Services <br /> 45 The Board approved a contract with the Capital Area Workforce Development (CAWD) for the <br /> 46 implementation of Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) employment and training <br /> 47 program services for youth and adults in Orange County. <br /> 48 k. Approval of Consortium Agreement with the Capital Area Workforce Development <br /> 49 Board <br /> 50 The Board approved the proposed Consortium Agreement and authorized the Chair to sign the <br /> 51 agreement when it is approved by Wake County and other Consortium members. <br />
