Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool —Appointments Discussion <br /> 2 The Board considered appointments to the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 BACKGROUND: The charge of the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool is to hear appeals <br /> 5 concerning violations of the Orange County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4 ("Animal Control <br /> 6 Ordinance"), as provided in the Orange County Code of Ordinances, Section 4-53 Appeals and <br /> 7 also potentially dangerous dog appeals as prescribed by North Caroline General Statute §67- <br /> 8 4.1(c). It is the responsibility of pool members to conduct fair and impartial hearings for these <br /> 9 appeals and they will receive training in both law and proper procedure prior to participating in a <br /> 10 hearing. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 The Board of County Commissioners appoints twelve (12) members, with representation from <br /> 13 various fields.
