P � <br /> 1,14 <br /> • • <br /> LOOKING TO 2050 <br /> DEVELOPMENT AND <br /> METHODOLOGY <br /> Through quantitative and qualitative analysis, goals, strategies, and actions were <br /> identified to enable the County to form a clear path toward implementation.Some <br /> of the strategies were derived from existing programs and policies within local and <br /> regional planning documents,while others emerged as new strategies drawn from <br /> the ongoing stakeholder process and the Climate Action Team subcommittee. <br /> DEVELOPMENT PROCESS: <br /> ► Preliminary quantitative and qualitative strategies identified and agreed upon <br /> ► Development of"Long List"of CAP actions to implement each strategy <br /> ► Community and stakeholder feedback <br /> ► Further refine into a "Short List"of CAP actions <br /> ► Quantify emission reductions from actions <br /> There are two development tools that are being used to track annual progress <br /> of the CAP. ICLEI tracks the success of GHG emission reductions over time and <br /> the Climate Action Tracker acts as an internal tracking system for staff roles and <br /> responsibilities,timelines and funding approaches. <br /> Local Governments for Sustainability is the first and largest global network of <br /> local governments devoted to solving the world's most intractable sustainability <br /> challenges.They have produced an online software platform,ICLEI,which tracks <br /> GHG emissions and forecasts models for strategy implementation. ICLEI also <br /> has a monitoring component, Clearpath, which can be used to report ongoing <br /> implementation of the CAP. In ICLEI ClearPath each strategy developed can be <br /> inputted and updated with real time progress of emission reductions achieved. <br /> Reports can then be exported to provide data visualizations on the progress of <br /> strategy implementation. <br /> 30 2023 CLIMATE ACTION PLAN ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />
