<br />The Board will consider a resolution setting forth a strategy for the Cable Advisory Committee of Orange <br />County and the County staff re-entering into informal franchise renewal negotiations with Time Warner <br />Cable (TWC). <br />6. Special Presentations <br />a. Potential Impacts of Federal "No Child Left Behind" Legislation <br />The Board will receive an assessment from the County's two school systems of the potential impacts of "No <br />Child Left Behind". <br />b. Workforce Development Board Annual Report <br />The Board will receive the annual program report prepared by the Regional Partnership Local Area on <br />Workforce Investment Act Programs, including information on expenditures on all contractor's programs, <br />number of participants served, articles on the JobLink Career Centers, and program success stories (the <br />Skills Development Center is a state chartered JobLink Center). <br />Public Hearings <br />a. Orange County's 2004 Legislative Agenda <br />The Board will consider holding a public hearing on 1) potential items for inclusion in Orange County's <br />legislative agenda package for the 2004 North Carolina General Assembly Session and to consider approval <br />of draft resolutions for presentation to Orange County's legislative delegation, and 2) for discussion on <br />potential items/projects to request federal funding assistance; and consider approval of the four draft <br />resolutions, and approve as necessary the list of items/projects to be presented to Congressman Price for <br />possible federal funding assistance. <br />8. Items for Decision--Consent Agenda <br />a. Minutes <br />The Board will consider correcting and/or approving the minutes of the November 20, 2003 BOCC Work <br />Session and the November 24, 2003 Joint Meeting of the BOCC and the Planning Board as submitted by the <br />Clerk to the Board. <br />b. Appovitments <br />(1) Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />The Board will consider one reappointment to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />(ACHCAC). <br />(2) Historic Preservation Commission <br />The Board will consider one reappointment to the Historic Preservation Commission. <br />c. Motor Vehicle Property Tax Release/Refunds <br />The Board will consider adoption of a refund resolution related to 87 requests for motor vehicle property tax <br />releases for refunds in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes. <br />d. Criminal Justice Partnership Program Continuation Grant Application <br />The Board will consider approving the submission of the FY 2004-2005 grant application of $165,221 for <br />the continuation of Criminal Justice Partnership Program (CJPP) operations at the current funding level and <br />authorize the Chair to sign. <br />e. Approval of South Orange Fire District Map <br />The Board will consider approving a revised reap of the South Orange Fire District. <br />f. Approval of East Alamance Fire District Contract <br />The Board will consider approving a contract between Orange County and the City of Mebane related to the <br />City's provision of fire protection services in the East Alamance Fire District and authorize the Chair to sign.
