(All other staff members will be identified <br /> 18 appropriately below) <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Chair Bedford called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All commissioners were present <br /> 21 except Commissioner McKee. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 1. Discussion of County Departments' FY 2023-24 Recommended Budgets within the <br /> 24 Public Safety, General Government, Support Services, and Community Services <br /> 25 Functional Leadership Teams <br /> 26 The Board reviewed and discussed FY 2023-24 recommended departmental budgets within the <br /> 27 Public Safety, General Government, Support Services, and Community Services Functional <br /> 28 Leadership Teams. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 BACKGROUND: The County Manager presented the FY 2023-24 Recommended Operating <br /> 31 Budget on May 2, 2023. Since then, the Board has conducted one public hearing to receive <br /> 32 residents' comments regarding the proposed funding plan. On May 11, 2023, the Board <br /> 33 discussed recommended FY 2023-24 budgets for Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of <br /> 34 Education and Orange County Schools Board of Education. On May 18, 2023, the Board <br /> 35 discussed recommended FY 2023-24 budgets for Durham Tech Community College, the Fire <br /> 36 Districts, as well as the Public Safety (except the Criminal Justice Resource Department) and <br /> 37 Human Services Functional Leadership Teams. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 The Board has an opportunity to review and discuss the recommended budgets directly with <br /> 40 County departments and the Sportsplex within the structure of Functional Leadership Teams, <br /> 41 including operations, capital, and department fee schedule change recommendations. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Functional Leadership Teams: <br /> 44 The following Functional Leadership Teams are scheduled to attend tonight's work session: <br /> 45 <br /> 46 Public Safety: <br /> 47 Criminal Justice Resource Department <br /> 48 <br /> 49 General Government: <br /> 50 • Board of County Commissioners <br /> 51 • Board of Elections <br />
