Presentation Regarding Uproar Festival of Public Art <br /> 4 The Board received information on a new upcoming, countywide festival called Uproar Festival <br /> 5 of Public Art. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 BACKGROUND: Uproar Festival of Public Art is four years in the making. Supported by all <br /> 8 three municipalities, UNC-Chapel Hill, and other civic and arts organizations, Uproar will drive <br /> 9 tourism into the downtown communities during the slow summer months while celebrating the <br /> 10 participating artists and community pride. The festival will take place through downtown Chapel <br /> 11 Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough and will feature 60 outdoor works of public art. A jury panel and <br /> 12 the public will be responsible for selecting winners and cash prizes will be awarded.
