(All other staff members will be identified <br /> 18 appropriately below) <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Chair Bedford called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All commissioners were present, <br /> 21 except Vice-Chair McKee. <br /> 22 Chair Bedford indicated that Laura Jensen will send a Doodle Poll in order to reschedule <br /> 23 the evaluations of the Manager, Attorney, and Clerk. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 1. Discussion and Decisions on FY 2023-24 Operating Budget <br /> 26 • Funding Decisions on the Operating Budget Amendment List <br /> 27 • Funding Decisions for Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools and Orange County Schools <br /> 28 o Current Expense (Per Pupil) <br /> 29 <br /> 30 The Board reviewed, discussed, and made decisions regarding the FY 2023-24 Manager's <br /> 31 Recommended Orange County Annual Operating Budget and approved a Resolution of Intent <br /> 32 to Adopt the FY 2023-24 Orange County Annual Operating Budget. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 BACKGROUND: The County Manager presented the FY 2023-24 Recommended Budget on <br /> 35 May 2, 2023. Subsequently, the Board has conducted two public hearings to receive residents' <br /> 36 comments regarding the proposed funding plan. In addition to the public hearings, the Board <br /> 37 heard presentations and held discussions with representatives of the County fire districts, the <br /> 38 local boards of education, representatives of the community college, and County Functional <br /> 39 Leadership Teams as related to the proposed funding plan for FY 2023-24. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Tonight's Agenda: Tonight's work session offers the Board an opportunity to discuss the <br /> 42 recommended budget, including discussion and review of the Budget Amendment list. As soon <br /> 43 as these discussions are completed, the Board will deliberate and make decisions regarding the <br /> 44 FY 2023-24 Annual Operating Budget and approve a Resolution of Intent to Adopt the FY 2023- <br /> 45 24 Annual Operating Budget.
