She said the Nursing Home CAC has six members with one person in training. She <br /> 21 said both of those would be full with ten positions. She said if they merge the two, that would be <br /> 22 14 members total. She said the Commissioners can allow up to 25 members if the committees <br /> 23 merged. She said her group covers a 7-county region, of which 4 have joint CACs. She said that <br /> 24 Jacquelyn Podger and Shade Little joined members have switched committees and that was a <br /> 25 seamless process due to their previous approvals by the state. <br /> 26 Jacquelyn Podger said that she and Shade Little were both in agreement that it meets <br /> 27 their immediate needs in terms of what they need to. She said they offer a richer experience. She <br /> 28 said that in terms of the master aging plan, one of their mandates is to extend programming to <br /> 29 people with learning disabilities. She said by combining the committees they will be able to reach <br /> 30 more people and work together. <br /> 31 Commissioner Fowler asked if others on the CACs are interested in a merger. <br /> 32 Jacquelyn Podger said that during discussions in the committee, no one voiced opposition. <br /> 33 She said their meetings might take longer because they have more facilities to discuss. <br /> 34 Commissioner Fowler asked if the trainings were the same. <br />
