He said that he has seen on increase in the number of children at River <br /> 15 Park Elementary interested in STEAM and joining the robotics &sonn. He said there one growing <br /> ih interests but those that do not have transportation after school find it difficult to impossible and <br /> 17 the other problem iathat there are not enough seats inthe program tofit all the interest. Haasked <br /> 18 the Board to consider funding o full-time robotics teacher in the F`y24 budget. He said it would <br /> 14 help all children participate and significantly improve their overall education. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Commissioner Hamilton arrived at 7:20 p.m. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Erick Castro is a student and on the River Park E|emantoryafterachoo| robotics team. He <br /> 24 asked the Board to fund a STEM teacher at River Pork so his friends could have an opportunity <br /> 25 to participate inthe team. <br /> 26 Ruaa|ia Panek is the captain of a robotics team and student at River Park. She said the <br /> 27 involvement in robotics a||ovve children to be challenged to think of problem in the world and try <br /> 28 to solve it. She said it also brings students together and helps them find more people interested <br /> 29 in the aonne things as them. She said that hiring o STEM teacher at River Park would o||ovv more <br /> 30 students the chance to explore STEM and encourage more creativity. <br />
