12
1 John Roberts said there is one and they will be at the June 6th meeting. He said he does
2 not think the program is successful yet because, unfortunately, most county attorneys do not see
3 a problem. He said of the fourteen jurisdictions that he got to participate, there is only one other
4 male county attorney. He said that they have placed four interns in some of the jurisdictions. He
5 said most want larger jurisdictions and they got mostly smaller ones. He said the intern goes 4-6
6 weeks, it is part-time, and they get exposure of public sector law.
7
8 Slide #17
General Government
• County Manager — ;page 106
Total expenditure budget-$2,091,704
- Deve os+not n Fund costs of3 6,wcampar"da Budpri
Recommended Budget Changes
- Caunty Manager
» $34,325 increase bymcwingnon-depaitmemaccauntsiftCo mtyM er'abudget
- Olfficaof Equ ty and tnclusiarm
» $659, dwby Nw4fsrrin!;OMc&ofEqultyand lnckRwnmMoassparate<I&Partm*nt
susta n0lllty Me
x $149,737 increase bytrar.sferring Sustainability into the County hfamaager's budget
* $33,597 increase in bernp-Drari persannesltoassist with Climate Change Plan implementation
ORANGE COUNTY
11. tV@RTt r CA RO LI N A
9
10 Commissioner Greene asked if the requested increase in temporary personnel for the
11 sustainability plan is a signal of the high priority of the plan.
12 Bonnie Hammersley said yes, and that the sustainability manager has been very involved
13 in the process and that having it in the county's office allows it to be a high-profile position.
14 Commissioner Greene noted that it cuts across all departments. She thanked Bonnie
15 Hammersley because it symbolically shows it is a priority.
16 Travis Myren said they have also included funds for temporary personnel to implement
17 the strategic plan.
18
19
