The EPA EnviroAtlas is worth looking into <br /> Transportation <br /> • Need to find a better way to publicize county commuter program <br /> •The lack of bike lanes outside of Chapel Hill in the county and the high risk involved <br /> in using county roads are major barriers to walking and biking. Infrastructure <br /> improvements are necessary. <br /> •While it may be challenging and expensive, there is an opportunity to coordinate <br /> with land linkage efforts for infrastructure, although wildlife habitat may pose some <br /> challenges for bike lanes. <br /> • Bike infrastructure is a high priority, with a focus on creating an integrated network, <br /> securing funding sources, and linking opportunities with big employers, as well as <br /> exploring the possibility of converting abandoned railroads to bike/hike trails. <br /> 8 ORANGE COUNTY, NC - APPENDICES <br />
