Please briefly describe the proposed program, including an explanation of how it aligns with the Town of <br />Chapel Hill and Carrboro’s Results Framework, and Orange County BOCC Goals and Priorities, and the target <br />population to benefit from the program. (250 words or less) The Meals on Wheels program provides a <br />nourishing, home delivered lunch, five days a week to homebound residents of northern Orange County. This <br />program addresses Orange County’s goal 1: Ensure a community network of basic human services and <br />infrastructure that maintains, protects, and promotes the well‐being of all county residents. While delivering <br />lunch, volunteers are able to make a quick assessment of each recipient’s physical and cognitive condition; if <br />there appears to be a change in condition, it is reported to the program coordinator who follows through with <br />the recipient’s emergency contact or appropriate Orange County department, including Emergency Services. <br />11.
