Agency’s Purpose/Mission (no more than a few sentences): <br />PORCH-Hillsborough is a dynamic volunteer-driven community committed to fighting <br />hunger in Hillsborough and northern Orange County. PORCH-Hillsborough holds <br />food drives supporting local pantries, distributes locally purchased fresh produce and <br />pantry-stable food to at-risk families in underserved communities, and purchases <br />healthy snacks for hungry kids in our schools. PORCH-Hillsborough’s simple, <br />sustainable programs provide non-perishable and fresh food to children and families <br />in Hillsborough and northern Orange County. <br />3. Please provide a brief description of your organization’s past achievements in carrying out similar <br />projects and evidence of successful record of meeting proposed budgets and timetables (no more <br />than 100 words). <br />PORCH-Hillsborough has a 13-year track record of helping feed hungry families in <br />our community. <br />1. Since 2010, every month for nine years, PORCH-Hillsborough has collected food <br />from Orange County neighbors and delivered it to Congregations In Mission <br />(OCIM). <br />2.Since 2019, PORCH-Hillsborough has collected, on average, 4000 lbs of <br />non-perishables from 38 neighborhoods for Orange County Schools Central <br />Pantry(OCSCP) and OCIM. <br />3. Since 2019, PORCH-Hillsborough has managed monthly food distributions in the <br />Fairview, Timbers, and Cedar Grove communities, serving 250 families. <br />4. Since 2021, PORCH-Hillsborough has packed and delivered 150 boxes of <br />non-perishables to families at OCSCP every month. <br />4.
