3 <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 5. The Department of Social Services has received additional appropriations with American <br /> Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding and Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) funding by <br /> the State to be used for the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). <br /> The program runs from June 2022 to May 2023, and the County received $132,727 for <br /> direct payments and administrative support for this program. <br /> 6. The Department of Social Services has received $4,126 in Monthly Caseworker Visits <br /> funding by the State to be used for Work First Program Payment. The program runs from <br /> June 2022 to May 2023, and the County will receive $4,126 for administrative support for <br /> this program. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION <br /> AND INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br /> or economic status. <br /> Orange County Schools <br /> 7. The Orange County Schools Board of Education has approved transfers of capital funding <br /> between projects. A total of $538,115 will move from Safety and Security to Roofs and <br /> Canopies to fund canopy projects at Hillsborough Elementary and Efland Cheeks Global <br /> Elementary. A total of $1,078,476 will move from the Cedar Ridge Classroom & Planning <br /> project to the 2016 Bond Classroom Building Improvements project to support campus <br /> wide bathroom renovations and provide additional restroom facilities at Orange High <br /> School. This reallocates funds within the School Capital Fund, outside the General Fund, <br /> and amends the following capital ordinances: <br /> School Safety/Security Projects (-$538,145) - Project#51034 <br /> Revenues for this project: <br /> Current FY 2022-23 FY 2022-23 <br /> FY 2022-23 Amendment Revised <br /> Alternative Financing $656,733 $0 $656,733 <br /> 2/3rds Net Debt Bonds $428,073 $0 $428,073 <br /> From General Fund $990,796 ($538,145) $452,651 <br /> Total Project Funding $2,075,602 1 ($538,145) $1,537,457 <br />
