Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough NC 27278 <br />Dear Chair Jacobs: <br />Subject: Board Appointment <br />The Orange County Connnission for Women bas reviewed all current applicants for <br />membership in the Commission for Women and reconunends Ms. Sally McKenzie for <br />the At Large (06-30-04) position. <br />Ms. McKenzie is a resident of Hillsborough Township. <br />The criteria for this position are that the applicant be a resident of Orange Cormty, show <br />an active interest in advocating for women, improving the quality of life for women in <br />Orange County, and a willingness and ability to attend the Commission's meetings and <br />participate in its projects. <br />In addition, the Commission for Women is conunitted to increasing the diversity of <br />Commission members and committed to preserving a geographical balance of <br />representation whenever possible. <br />Ms. McI{enzie's professional experience as General Manager of the News of Orange <br />C..ounty Newspaper will be a most valuable asset for our Connnission as she brings a <br />multitude of contacts throughout the county. She is cun-ently also a member of the <br />Human Relations Commission and thus will provide much-needed liaison with that <br />Connnission.
