■ Wake Durham Bus Plan Update and Short-Range Transit Plans,GoTriangle(Raleigh/Durham,NC)
2020-Ongoing.Michael is overseeing the GIS/data analysis of the region-wide project. The team is
conducting a regional service assessment to identify gaps and opportunities for transit in the
Triangle Region and is applying these findings to plan, prioritize, and cost out service, operational,
and capital investments.Michael is leading an Access to Transit analysis to help prioritize local
multimodal access projects to transit stops.
■ Silver Line Extension Alternatives Analysis,MassDOT(Boston,MA)2020-Ongoing.Michael is lead
GIS Analyst for an alternatives study focused on extending a bus rapid transit line through Everett,
Somerville,Cambridge, and Boston.Project includes the identification and evaluation of a wide range
of potential infrastructure and service options,as well as a robust,multi-lingual public engagement
process in transit-reliant communities.
■ Westchester County Mobility and Bus Re-Design Study.Westchester County,NY(Westchester,NY)
2019-2023.Westchester County is exploring ways to improve bus service and mobility in the County.
As part of this study,Michael developed public outreach materials and interactive surveys, assessed
the market for transit in Westchester County, and evaluated potential service scenarios and routings
in terms of County population coverage, accessibility, and operational costs.
■ Capital Area Transit Network Redesign Study,PennDOT(Harrisburg,PA)2019-2020.Capital Area
Transit is in the process of redesigning their transit network with the aim of improving ridership and
reducing their operating budget.Michael used GIS software to evaluate the existing system in terms
of accessibility and reach for the regional population,in addition to potential service networks to
help develop a future recommended plan.
■ MBTA Systemwide Service Redesign,Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority(Boston,MA)
2018-2019.Michael performed a complete system analysis of all existing bus routes, which involved
analyzing GTFS transit data and service areas, ridership patterns, frequency and span throughout
day,on-time performance, and reliability. His analysis was used for specific route by route service
recommendations of alignments,frequency,and scheduling patterns.
■ Torrance Transit COA,Torrance Transit(Torrance,CA)2018-2019.Lead GIS analyst.Michael
performed comprehensive existing and future conditions analysis for development of short range
and long-range transit plans. He analyzed ridership patterns, connections to other service providers,
frequency and headway, and coverage of existing and potential Torrance Transit routes.
