TEAM QUALIFICATIONS Orange County Transportation Multimodal Plan <br /> SIMILAR PROJECTS <br /> Transportation1 Wake Forest Comprehensive • <br /> DATECOMPLETED Wake Forest Cornprehensive Transportation Plan n0 <br /> 2019 <br /> CLIENT CONTACT <br /> Jennifer Currin,AICP, LEED Comprehensive Transportation Plan <br /> AP,CZO <br /> Assistant Planning Director Town of Wake Forest <br /> (919)435-9517 <br /> Welcome to the Town of Wake Forest Comprehensive Transportation Plan(CTP.To view the contents,navigate through the tabs <br /> jcurrin@wakeforestnc.gov located at the top of the page.We recommend viewing this an Goobelowle Chrome on a computer.Please see navigation instructions <br /> COST <br /> $200K <br /> A screenshot from the original StoryMaps website that our team created as a final report <br /> of the CTP.WSP based the CTP on a more realistic future population and employment <br /> forecast resulting in a multi-modal plan better suited to meet the Town's transportation <br /> challenges. <br /> WSP concluded the Comprehensive Transportation Plan for the Town of Wake Forest in 2019.At the onset,our team <br /> and the technical review committee formulated a vision,goals,and objectives for the project.For the development of <br /> the transportation plan,our team started by analyzing the existing and future populations and employment,commute <br /> and other travel patterns,existing plans and studies in the area,existing,planned,and funded transportation network, <br /> and traffic and safety data. <br /> During this review,we realized that the official future population and employment projections in the ETJ of Wake <br /> Forest have been severely undercounted.We recalculated the population and employment data in each TAZ in a <br /> workshop with the Town based on the ongoing and planned development projects,and available area for future <br /> development.This change had a significant impact on the future traffic volumes and patterns,which led to more <br /> informed decision making along the project. <br /> The project also included two rounds of public engagement,one at the onset to solicit comments about existing <br /> concerns and desired outcomes,and another after development of multi-modal recommendations.Our team <br /> developed recommendations for roadway improvements,new roadway alignments,intersection improvements, <br /> bicycle and pedestrian network,and transit.We also developed short-and long-term recommendations for six hotspot <br /> intersections spread across the study area. <br /> We prepared the final report using ESRI's StoryMaps platform;an interactive,easy-to-use,web-based tool which uses <br /> text,maps,videos,and other graphics to make reports more useful for the community,stakeholders,and the Town <br /> staff.The report was designed such that each recommendation type was readily identifiable as a pop-up on the map. <br /> Our team received several accolades from the Town staff,the planning board,and the board of commissioners for this <br /> innovative approach to report-writing.The report format has since been revised by the new Town staff using the latest <br /> version of StoryMaps.Many details from the original StoryMaps report have been transferred to a PDF based report. <br /> The adjacent screenshots are from the original StoryMaps layout. <br /> Project Team Members Involved&Roles: <br /> Shivang Shelat(DPM);Sarah Parkins(Public Engagement Lead);Sravya Suryadevara(Traffic Lead) <br />
