US 70 Corridor Public Study The Durham Chapel Hill Carrboro MPO is conducting a study of US 70 West, from NC 119 in Mebane to US 751 in Orange County. The Corridor Study will provide recommendations for future development of the transportation corridor. Visit the project website for more information. US 70 Multimodal Corridor Study (us70westxom). NCDOT Participating in FHWA's State Transportation Innovation Councils NCDOT is participating in FHWA's STIC (State Transportation Innovation Councils) program which allows each state transportation community to evaluate and deploy innovations that best fit their program needs and put the innovations into practice quickly. This program will assist in the research and deployment of low cost, temporary bicycle and pedes- trian countermeasures related to FHWA's Safe Transportation for Every Pedestrian (STEP) pro- gram. The project will identify the necessary process steps for launching such a program with local stakeholders (including schedule, cost, logistics) to support the success of future programs, or the possibility of dedicated funding to establish a countermeasure program in coordination with Divi- sion resurfacing schedules. This project will form the foundation for future deployment work with regard to bicycle and pedestrian countermeasures. The lead for this project is Edward Johnson at IMD.
