In addition,the properly specified In the <br /> application is comprised of four tracts totaling 142.2 acres, satisfying acreage requirements. <br /> The trig tracts located on the south side of Lidle River Church Road are not part of a NRCS <br /> plan and, at 51.2 acres, contain less than the minimum side requirement of 80 acres. <br /> To be designated as a Voluntary Agricultural District,the District must be approved by the <br /> Boom of Commissioners. Following this approval,the property deader signs a conservation <br /> agreement, as provided in the North Carelina General Strides, between Orange County and <br /> the owner that prohibits non-fann use or development of such land for a period of at least ten <br /> (10)years, except for the creation of not more than three (3)Iota that most applicable Orange <br /> County zoning and subdivision regulations(see Attachment#S). The property owner may leave <br /> the program by providing a written notice. <br /> At its April 17, 2002 meeting,the Agricultural Preservation Board voted unanimously b approve <br /> the certification of the three Miller tracts along Pearson Road (TMBL# 1.17..14A, 1.17..14,and <br /> 1.24..2G)as qualifying farmland. The Agricultural Preservation Board reoornmends the <br /> designation of three Pearson Road threats totally approximately 14t acres as a voluntary <br /> agricultural district excluding the 51.2-acre Little River Church Road tract(TMBL#2.23..15D, <br /> 2.23..15A)since It Is not configuous with the larger acreage. <br /> A draft resol Won is attached that would caddy the designate Me Miller fain as e.Voluntary <br /> Agnouduml District. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There Is no fiscal impact associated with this hem. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommence that the Board adopt the attached <br /> resolution caddying the Miller farm as qualifying farmland and designating it a voluntary <br /> agdcultaral district as noted above. <br />
