NOTICE OF JOINT PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING <br />Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />Chapel Hill Town Council <br />Carrboro Board of Aldermen <br />A public hearing will be held in the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead <br />Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Monday, March 29, 2004 at 7:30 P.M, for the <br />purpose of giving all interested citizens an opportunity to speak far ar against the <br />fallowing items: <br />A. JOINT PLANNING AGREEMENT <br />Amend Exhibit A (Joint Planning Land Use Map) to change the designation <br />of the Chapel Fiill Southern Transition Area to Rural Buffer. <br />Purpose: The May 2000 Chapel Hill Comprehensive Plan and recently adopted <br />Water and Sewer Management Planning and Boundary Agreement removed the <br />Southern Transition Area from the Urban Services Area. Existing low-density <br />development patterns and the lack of future water and sewer extension are <br />compatible with the designation of Rural Buffer which currently bounds the area <br />to the east. <br />This amendment requires the approval of the Orange County Commissioners, <br />Chapel Hill Town Council, and Carrboro Board of Aldermen. <br />B. JOINT PLANNING AREA LAND USE PLAN (TEXT AND MAP) <br />1. Make the following amendments to the text of the Joint Planning Area Land <br />Use Plan: <br />a. Page 3: Amend map to change the designation of the Chapel Hill <br />Southern Transition Area to Rural Buffer. <br />b. Page 60: Under *Suburban Residential Areas, remove amendment date <br />and paragraph which addresses lower residential densities resulting <br />from the Southern Small Area Plan for certain areas in the Southern <br />Triangle. <br />c. Page 72: Under *Suburban Residential Areas, remove amendment date <br />and paragraph which addresses lower residential densities resulting <br />from the Southern Small Area Plan for certain areas in the Southern <br />Triangle. <br />d.
